Kofi Smith is the Executive Director of the Atlanta Airlines Terminal Corporation, which is responsible for managing more than $200M annually and approximately 6.8 million square feet of facility operations for the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. In 2011 at the age of 35, Kofi was promoted to Executive Director becoming the youngest person to hold this position since the corporation’s inception back in 1979. In 2012, Kofi was named to the Atlanta Business League’s 2012 Men of Influence. In 2014, Kofi was named one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40-Under-40. Kofi is also a graduate of the 2015 Class of Leadership Atlanta.Kofi received his Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1999. While at Tech, Kofi was selected as one of the three permanent Team Captains for the 1998 Football Season. That year Kofi set a school record which still stands today for the longest fumble recovery for a touchdown in school history (90 yards). In 2009, Kofi returned to Georgia Tech, where he received his Executive MBA in Global Business, concentrating in the areas of Global Markets, Global Supply Chain, Global Organization, and Global Trade. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree in Business from the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University.Kofi recently sat on a research panel in Washington, DC evaluating the airline and airport industries under the Airport Cooperative Research Program of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and National Academies. He serves as the Board Secretary on the national board for the National Black Child Development Institute and also sits on the Children’s Sports Network Corporate Board for the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation. He is a proud member of the Lambda Delta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
